What is it?
Zefie's WavRecorder Plugin Mod is a plugin for
SDRSharp that allows you to exceed the specifications for the WAVE file format, and capture recordings larger than 2GB.
Why a "Mod"?
The original plugin is limited to 2GB file size, which is not a bug, it is the standard for WAVE files. I have discovered that most software can read WAVE files up to 4GB, and SDRSharp will read any length WAV file. Until a better file format is used, this plugin serves as a hack to record virtually limitless length IQ wav files.
Features
- Source code is included, no change in license.
- Allows recording files larger than 2GB on filesystems that support it (Linux and Windows NTFS)
- Selectable compliance mode (2GB for standard, 4GB for compatible, Unlimited for SDRSharp Only)
Known Issues
- The WAVE standard only official supports up to 2GB, so 4GB files may not work in some software. Files over 4GB will only play back in SDRSharp.
- There is no such thing as truely "Unlimited", the current technical limitation is 8 Exabytes.
